DIY Eco Friendly Cleaning Kit

Years of experience has taught us what makes a great and useful eco-friendly cleaning kit for the whole house. Assuming you aren’t scrubbing your grout, washing your carpets and cleaning your furniture’s upholstery, this is a great kit to make for regular maintenance cleanings for your home. With input from our seasoned cleaners and through trial and error, we have come up with a great cleaning kit for everyone to use.

Products You’ll Need:

  • Vinegar – mixing vinegar with water in a spray bottle will sanitize your counters while keeping the strong smell of the vinegar from lingering too long.
  • Bon Ami Powder Cleanser – The perfect non-abrasive cleaner for stains on counters and your stove.
  • Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap – mixing 1/4 cup of soap in a large spray bottle and filling the rest up with water provides an excellent all-purpose mixture.
  • Earth Friendly Products: Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Stainless Steel Cleaner and Wood Furniture Polish are all really great to have in your arsenal of cleaning tools. Tip: if you are looking for the Stainless Steel Cleaner, (which works great!), as far as we know, it’s only available at Baron’s Market in Point Loma.

Lastly, buying a package of the small blue microfiber towels from Home Depot will help prevent streaks or scratches. Just make sure not to use fabric softener with these towels, ironically it makes them more rough. And you’ll only need 2 spray bottles, also available at Home Depot for pretty cheap. If you choose to add our signature Essential Oil Mix to your team of bacteria combatants, then make sure to get a 3rd spray bottle. Add a few of your own must-haves: gloves, trash bags, scrub brushes and maybe a disposable bag to hold the used cleaning towels until they can make it to the washer.

Remember to Label your bottles and find a durable carrying case for all your supplies, no more tipped bottles and soapy messes underneath your kitchen sink! cleaning kit tote
