Eco-Friendly Laundry Tips

Laundry

Did you know that the chemicals we use for laundry can cause long-term damage not only to our bodies but also to the environment? We want to show you how to make a healthier change when it comes to your laundry.

Laundry Detergent

Although buying this product in the store seems easier, creating your own is cheaper and the effect is equally effective. To create a home washing powder you need two bars of stain soap, two cups of soap flakes, two cups of baking soda, two cups of borax, and your favorite essential oil for fragrance. Break stain soap into small parts and mix all the ingredients in the kitchen blender and your homemade washing powder is ready to use!

Fabric Softener

Four cups of sea salt, essential oil, and half a glass of water. Here’s a recipe for a fabric softener that will be suitable for people with allergies and sensitive skin. Store it in a sealed jar in a shaded place.

Set The Iron Aside

Ironing is not only a waste of time but also a waste of energy. What’s more, most of us don’t really like this activity … So you can try these ways! You will save time and money and these unusual ironing methods will also be useful while traveling:

  • hang crumpled clothing on a hanger and take a 15-minute shower
  • boil water in a metal pot, pour the water out, and then use a hot bottom of a pot, like an iron
  • mix a glass of vinegar with 3 glasses of water, spray on clothing and allow to dry in the fresh air

If you are not convinced of homemade washing products, pay attention to what you buy in the store. You can choose from a lot of organic and interesting options – washing nuts, woolen balls to soften clothes… the choice is yours!
